JODIE E. (GORIN) STEWART 1964 - 2017 IDAHO SPRINGS, CO - Jodie Ellen Stewart's life was cut short unexpectedly as the result of a tragic automobile accident on Sunday, July 30, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Russell Stewart and the adoring mother of Tommy Dean Stewart; the treasured daughter of Lester Gorin and Francine Gorin; the loving sister of Glen Gorin and Wendy Gorin Ladd. Jodie also had nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends from both Colorado and Connecticut who are all heartbroken over this sudden and tragic loss.

Jodie was born on November 19, 1964 and grew up in Norwich Connecticut, but the mountains of Idaho Springs, Colorado were her home and her love for the past 24 years. Being a free spirit, Jodie savored motorcycle riding with Rusty, skiing with Tommy, and most recently, she became a vigilant and talented student of the arts of yoga and Reiki. She had many dreams to pursue and was working on creating new adventures for herself and for her family. Jodie's entrepreneurial spirit and passion was evident in everything that she did.

Friendship was something that Jodie greatly appreciated and she collected friends easily. Her generous and humble nature, her ability to make people feel comfortable, her gorgeous smile and Jodie's tasty cooking always meant that there was a party going on at the Stewart's mountain retreat they called home, of which everyone was always invited
.
Jodie graduated from Norwich Free Academy and went on to earn college degrees from American University and Mount Ida College. Jodie worked as a Software Specialist and Configuration Manager for Jeppeson Sanderson Inc. for the past eight years, but she recently joined the Colorado Arbonne team and was very proud of her position in the company. Jodie absolutely loved Arbonne. She appreciated the great people she got to know as well as the many opportunities the company had to offer.

Jodie lived life authentically and fully. She embraced every opportunity to create her own unique path, left a beautiful trail, and did so on her own terms. In this way, and in so many other ways, Jodie set an example for us all to live by and we have been blessed to have spent time, although short, in her presence.
A graveside service will be held at Norwich Hebrew Benevolent Association Cemetery #4 located at 62 Middle Rd. Preston, CT at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 3.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Youth Entrepreneurs, (an educational program for teens), 1845 Fairmount St., Box 160, Wichita, KS 67260
